We’ve entered October, Autumn is upon us, and that means it’s the start of the transition period for our wardrobes.

The great thing about autumn is that we now are able to embrace the warm tones of mustard yellow, which compliment everyone’s skin tone, we’re also able to add some layers without looking like a clothes horse and we can finally fish out the closed toes shoes and boots. The bad thing about autumn is that we are often found second guessing how the days will turn out. It may still be a little warm for a winter jacket, but we no longer can keep our legs and arms out. And the worst thing is when we witness the rain outside. It just puts us in a dull mood.

Nevertheless, we can always brighten up our moods with our outfits and I’m going to talk through 7 of the latest fashion trends and must haves this Autumn.

1 - Snake Print - animal print is always on the menu but the must have this autumn is snake print. Snake print offers the best of both worlds. They often come in subtle palettes which make their look near-neutral. But their dynamic textures and bold prints make them as eye-catching as any other animal print. Go for snake print accessories like a belt or bag if you’re not bold enough to rock a snake print top etc.

2 - Denim Jackets - and another one bites the dust (or season). The question is, will this jacket ever go out of fashion or season? If you do not have a Denim jacket yet, go and purchase one ASAP.

3 - Puff Sleeves - puffed sleeves tops have taken the romantic look to another level with higher necklines, the use of sheer and the use of lace. These Victorian era inspired pieces look great with good pair of jeans.

4 - Asymmetrical pieces - showing off a shoulder while the weather still permits, adds sexiness to a casual outfit. It’s great to also see the asymmetrical style adopted in dresses and shirts. All these pieces are must haves and bring edgy to a simple outfit.

5 - Leather Pants (faux) - the great thing about leather pants this autumn is that they come in all sorts of styles. The skinny tight look, the cropped casual look and even the wide leg smart trouser look. I’m one who is slightly bottom heavy and I already worry about fitting into trousers or jeans especially if they are not stretchy. The great thing is all the faux leather pants I’ve seen are stretchy, so ladies they are made to fit all!

6 - Satin Midi Skirts - Topshop are idolic for the satin skirt. They have it in so many colours and shades and it is such a comfortable piece. I’ve noticed that the latest edition is their black one which is great for Autumn/Winter especially when you couple it with a warm colour like mustard yellow.

7 - Mustard Yellow - This bold colour is everywhere! And the funny thing is that when you try and tell yourself that you won’t buy another mustard yellow item, you simply can not help yourself. There is something about this colour that just draws you in. It’s so warming and looks great in any outfit.

These are 7 of the trends I’ve seen, whilst scanning the shop floors of the shopping malls but in reality there are many more trends out there that can be adopted. Please feel free to comment below, I’d be interested to hear your opinions.
